You can also face a license suspension of 90 days to one year or the court can require you to attend Education Classes instead.

Second Texas DUI Offense: Jail stay of 30 days to one year is involved in a second DUI case in Texas. Apart from this, fines of up to $4000 along with surcharge fees depending on your BAC, driver's license suspension of 180 days to two years can also be enforced. The court can also require you to attend a DWI school for mandatory 32 hours as well as community service for 80 hours to 200 hours.

Third Texas DUI Offense: A third DUI offense in Texas can lead you to spend two to ten years in Texas penitentiary, fines of up to $10,000 can be imposed on you along with surcharge fee depending on your BAC level, your driver's license can be suspended for 180 days to two years. But the court can grant you driving privileges on probation as well. A third offense also involves 32 mandatory minimum hours of DWI school as well as community service to fulfill as part of your penalties.

Certain people with prior DUI convictions or license suspensions can also be required to install ignition interlock devices in their vehicles if they want to continue to drive. This ignition interlock device must be installed in all of the vehicles that the driver owns and needs to be installed and used for the specified period of time in order for reinstatement of your permanent driving privileges. Before the driver starts the engines, he or she will be required to provide a breath test to make sure that the BAC is under control. The driver will also have to provide this breath test regularly throughout the journey.
