Alaska DUI Arrest Stories

(Palmer, Alaska) Matanuska Susitna county

arrested for dui, my wife was forced to leave her purse, phones, and personal items in the car. the impounded my car and got a search warrent. i went to jail because the found a pill bottle of bi-polar medication in my car and a digital scale. i passed all tests, and was forced to take a blood test after a warrent was issued, and had to draw blood twice because they didnt draw two viles only one. then the wanted to poke me for a third time for another vile of blood and i refused to be poked again. after the blood test i was soon released to go homme. my question is what if i used drugs the day before and it shows up in my blood test will i still get a dui even though i was sober when i was arrested? and did they have the right to force my wife to leave her purse in the car and search through it?

was driving in Alaska and got stopped for a dui Plus. All I know is he resides in Arizona. He has been doing all the right things for his first dui. It seems as if he is somehow charged with a man who has the same name as him in Alaska...basically he is being charged with priors he does not have. What do we do? They(Alaska) wants a third party to release him too). Also a 10,000 dollar bond. Where do we go from here.

(Skagway, Alaska) Skagway Hoonah Angoon county

pulled over after parking into my driveway of residence. I get out of the car. Officer asks if I had been drinking; admitted to having done so. He has me perform field sobriety test. I apparently do not pass. I am hand-cuffed and brought to police station. Paper work is filled out, breathalyzer performed, DL confiscated, finger-prints and mug-shot taken. I am discharged after all of these procedures are completed.

i received a dui in Alaska 11/2009 and moved to Oklahoma shortly after that, I have completed the ASAP courses in Ok but did not know that I had to send the information to the courts, also since I moved to Oklahoma is there a way to waive the IID.

(Ketchikan, Alaska) Prince of Wales Outer Ketchikan county

Driving home from the bars with passengers in vehicle through Ketchikan. Officer was following me in his squad car and observed me drive straight from a turn-left only lane and proceeded to pull me over. Officer performed field sobriety tests (pen with flashlight, 9 steps toe-to-toe, hold your foot up for 30 seconds, and a portion of the alphabet) I completed all tests except the alphabet one and the officer proceeded to place me under arrest. I refused to blow a breathalyzer back at the station and was released under my own recognizance less than an hour or so later.

I refused the breath test, but consented to the blood alcohol B.A.C. test. They still charged me with a refusal. Is there any way to get off on the refusal charge since I consented to a blood alcohol B.A.C. test?

(Valdez, Alaska) Valdez Cordova county

i drove into town because i live three to four miles out of the main part of the town of valdez. i was giving my friend a ride to town. we pulled up outside of a floral/gift shop she went inside and i proceeded to drive to the post office to check my mail. upon returning to the floral/gift shop, i put my car into park, it rolled a couple inches and accidently tapped another customers car. when i told the lady what happened and we checked for damage, we both did not see any damage and the few inches of snow that had fallen on her bumper, was still there. the driver of the car that i accidently rolled into, called the cops because she heard my speech and automatically assumed i was intoxicated. i have three and a half top teeth and seven on the bottom. the officer took me to jail and breathalized me. my bac came back negative, i was not drinking nor do i drink. i am on prescription medication from a doctor here in valdez.. they arrested me for dui and locked me in the valdez ja il. iwas appointed legal counsel but after months of trying to cooperate fully with my public defender, i feel she does not have my best interests at heart. i have always worked for my family, i havent been able tto since.  pllease call me if you can help me.

I was involved in a playful scuffle between two friends and lost my glasses. My neighbor was driving my car and drove through the taco bell drive thru. We got out of my car near the drive thru to eat and my boyfriend and neighbor were horsing around after we ate. I got tangled in the scuffle and lost my glasses. I can't see anything past my hand without my glasses. My keys were in my car still and my car was unlocked. To get into a safer position so I wouldn't get hit by cars (I couldn't see). I went to my car. I couldn't drive because I couldn't see and I had no intention of driving. Someone in the drive thru called the cops, I asked them to because I had been involved in the scuffle and was concerned that I may have further injured a previous injury. I waited in my car for the police to come and when they got here, they arrested me for drunk driving. The police looked at the drive thru cameras and one stated he is arresting me because he saw me driving thru the drive thru oncamera. I didn't drive through the drive thru, my neighbor was driving my car because I was out drinking. I was very upset about not being able to see and being questioned for a dui, they kept asking me to do sobriety tests and I kept telling them I wasn't driving but they ignored me, gave me a test to balance myself on one foot and I failed that test. I was unable to see anything, I'm disabled in my left foot and I had beers at the bar. I didn't drive. I didn't have any intention to drive. Can you help me?
